Students from our Singleton Academy (NSW) were lucky enough to receive a visit from members of the NSW Government, including Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Minister for Education the Hon. Robert Stokes and Member for the Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen.

The three Members were in Singleton for a community Cabinet meeting and used the opportunity to drop into our highly successful Academy.

The visit provided them with insight into the day to day operations of an Academy as well as the chance to meet a number of Clontarf students, including George Reid, Jayden Windle, Joshua Feeney and Jack Phoenix who all did a superb job of hosting their guests.

The students took their guests for a tour of the three Academy rooms before presenting on the ‘Clontarf pillars’ and how they guide them on their path for better education and life outcomes. They also highlighted the significant impact the Foundation has had on their schoolingsince the programme commenced in Singleton at the start of Term 2 in 2016.

Student Jack Phoenix said he enjoyed the opportunity to hear from senior members of the NSW Government and how they support local organisations.

“It was a great experience hosting the Premier and Education Minister and was good to see what they do and that¬†they support Clontarf,” he said.

Singleton Academy would like to thank the Premier, the Minister for Education and the Member for the Upper Hunter for visiting the Academy and showing their support.
