The inaugural Midwest Academy Alumni Evening was held at Frewer House on Thursday 27th of June.

About 35 old boys rocked up to enjoy a casual catch up which involved pulling the big screen down to watch the West Coast Eagles vs Essendon footy match, a big BBQ cook up and a couple of cranking camp fires.

The night started off with some nibbles and everybody watched the Eagles go down to the Bombers by seven points.

The party then headed outdoors around the campfire were Midwest Academy Director Ian Taylor officially kicked off proceedings, followed by past staff member Craig Turley as guest speaker and then the floor was thrown open to the boys who reminisced with some good yarns of their time at the Academy and Geraldton Senior College.

Staff cooked up a feast and everybody enjoyed a tasty dinner.

The guitars then appeared around the campfire so we finished the night off with a good old sing along.

Special thanks to Coles Geraldton who donated all of the food and soft drink for the evening.

The alumni night will become an annual event which we hope more old boys will attend each year.
