‘Clontarf Spirit’ was the order of the day during the inaugural Townsville Regional Clontarf Senior Carnival held on Magnetic Island in March.

More than 50 Year 10-11 boys from Townsville, Thuringowa, Heatley and Kirwan Academies gathered on the picturesque island off the coast of Townsville for their first ever Clontarf camp.

The primary purpose of the carnival was for the boys to develop healthy Clontarf Spirit – something the boys achieved admirably all while demonstrating sporting prowess and competitive intent.

After a gruelling yet rewarding day, the group enjoyed a team dinner with Sam Songoa from Clontarf partner Aurizon, who told his story of graduating from school and his subsequent pathway to becoming an engineer. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to hear from someone who has achieved success by working towards his goals.

To cap off the camp, the boys participated in their very first Super Training session on the beach and were presented with Clontarf Spirit awards to highlight those boys who went above and beyond.

Everyone from the Townsville Academies are looking forward to carrying this irresistible momentum on to Term 2!
