With the Harristown Academy joining Clontarf boys from all around Queensland and NSW for the 2016 clash of the Indigenous Allstars and the World Allstars at Suncorp Stadium, a great night out was definitely on the menu.

The road trip from T-Bar allowed for a bit of banter about what the big final year ahead might throw up for the Year 12 boys, and a positive chat about pulling together as a group, no shame in seeking help, and the need to keep everything in perspective. This great bit of question and answer conversation started the night off in an upbeat fashion.

Next, the boys made short work of the pizza and pasta on offer at dinner, but more importantly, impressed all they encountered with their manners, respectful nature and clean cut presentation. The manager of the restaurant making particular comment about how well behaved a group of young men they were.

Then it was onto the “Cauldron” to watch messrs Inglis, Smith, Thaiday, and the flying EEL Semi (trailer) Radradra in action. The atmosphere was fantastic with the crowd of over 35,000 making plenty of noise and really getting behind the Indigenous team in particular.

Despite the Indigenous mob not quite being able to get the job done, all the boys thoroughly enjoyed the experience as well as the opportunity to meet and mix with boys from other Academies and see the stadium in full flight and see the big smoke at night.
