The Inaugural Clontarf Employment Forum was conducted across two days early in Term 3.

The Forum began on Thursday evening, where our boys took part in the first City vs Country Rugby League match. The match was a great spectacle and played with plenty of flair and included some hard hits.

The most pleasing highlight was the fantastic “Clontarf spirit” shown by all on the night.

The match itself was a thriller coming down to the last kick at goal after the siren to force a draw. The kick (unfortunately for City) sailed wide with Country winning 40 to 38.

After the game, we were privileged to have local indigenous man and inspirational speaker Thomas Draper come talk to us all about his journey in life and what he has gone through to become the successful and proud man he is today.

On Friday the boys were presented with a great opportunity to meet some of Clontarf’s partners and a number of local employers to discuss the possibility of a career in any of the given fields. The forum definitely opened a few eyes up, with the boys being blown away by the number of career paths and choices available.

All in all the day was a smashing success with many thanks to Clontarf’s Employment Officer Marcus Priaulx for all his effort and hard work behind the scenes to ensure that nothing went wrong and that the day ran as smoothly as it did.
