Great Southern Clontarf Academy inaugural member Michael McGlade returned to his old stomping ground to talk to current Academy students about his life post-Clontarf.

Michael was a skinny little bloke when he and the Great Southern Academy started in 2006 but like our logo says, “From Little Things Big Things Grow”, Michael is a testament to just that.

Michael has just been offered a full time position at the Water Corporation in Albany.

After Michael graduated from North Albany SHS he had a few months off to relax and then an opportunity came to apply for a job at the Water Corporation. Since then he has not looked back, completing his Water Treatment traineeship.

Michael has maintained his local football commitments and is a key midfielder in the Royals league team, playing in a premiership for the Royals in 2011.

He has represented the Great Southern Football League at association level in both colts and league over the past three years.

Thanks to the Water Corp for allowing Michael to speak to our boys and we wish Michael all the best in his future endeavours.
