More than 120 people filled the hall at Dalby State High School to celebrate the dedication and achievement of students from the Dalby Academy during their end of year awards night.

Students, staff, families and local community members attended to show their support and congratulate the boys on an incredibly successful year.

In true testament to the success of the programme, a record 11 Indigenous Year 12  boys finished school this year – an outstanding achievement given only two had achieved the feat in both 2015 and 2016.

On the night, Year 11 student Trey Dodd was fantastic as master of ceremonies while special guest speaker, Year 10 student Claydon Outerbridge, effortlessly presented on his Young Endeavour sail from Mackay to Brisbane.

Also recognised for their ongoing support were Aunty Jo Duncan (Community Education Counsellor) and Tanya Carroll from Food Assist.

Congratulations to everyone and what a way to end the year – bring on 2018!
