On Wednesday the 3rd of February Harristown’s Grade 12 Clontarf Academy members headed out to Cherbourg and Murgon for their induction day.

First stop was Cherbourg where after a short visit meeting the young boys at the primary school we headed off for a tour of the Cherbourg Ration Shed Museum.

It’s fair to say this tour definitely made an impact on our boys, with some of our fellas having family ties back to the settlement.

With lunch fast approaching we headed off to Murgon High School where the Clontarf boys had prepared a barbeque. Feeling most welcomed and with full bellies the boys all mingled well chatting and playing table tennis.

for the afternoon the boys chose to return to the Cherbourg Ration Shed where they could continue to look through the museum and collect earlier painted boomerangs, leaving Cherbourg with rejuvenated motivation levels for the challenging year ahead.
