Far North Queensland produced a perfect morning for the very first Super Training in the Cairns Region.

Academy members from Yarrabah, Bentley Park, Cairns High, Trinity Bay, Woree and Gordonvale gathered in Gordonvale to participate in the much anticipated morning.

The action packed session consisted of fun filled team games designed to encourage teamwork, build confidence and improve communication skills.

It was fantastic to see so many young men mixing together, making new friends and having a great time.

In preparation for school, students engaged with their teachers along with special guests as they sat down to a hot breakfast together. This environment allowed everyone to form stronger relationships which we hope will translate into the classroom.

Everyone pitched in and cleaned the area before departing for school with full stomachs and smiles on their faces.

Robbie Williams, Head of Senior School at Gordonvale State High said, “It’s great to see so many kids up and about so early, having a good time and being well prepared for school.”

Stephen Bell, Regional Director for the Department of Education, and Cathy Zeiger, representative from the Cairns Regional Council both attended the event and had a wonderful experience. Both guests provided some extremely positive feedback on the Super Training initiative and look forward to our future Clontarf events.

Super Training sessions are held in all states/territories throughout the year. If you’d like to be involved, feel free to email us at comms@clontarffoundation.com.au and we can let you know when sessions are taking place in your area.
