PIGRAM BROTHERS SHINE IN BICTON

A record crowd flocked to the 8th Broome to Bicton Family Picnic in the Park on a balmy summer evening on Sunday, February 28.

Quarantine Park, Bicton was a dense sea of colour as families arrived early for a trademark Perth sunset complimented by the tunes of The Pigram Brothers.

The evening opened with a stellar performance by local artist Dave Regan who had the crowd moving and set the scene for later acts. Regan later joined The Pigram Brothers on stage for a cameo performance after the sun had set.

Clontarf Academy graduate Quaylin MacAuley, from Broome, was a brilliant MC for the event and brought the house down with his solo rap performance: “My Life.”

By the time The Pigram Brothers arrived on stage Quarantine Park was full of life as people of all ages braced the designated grass area and danced the night away.

It was a fantastic sight as the setting sun provided the backdrop for the Broome bands outstanding performance enjoyed by over 4000 onlookers. The venue was literally full and was the biggest Broome to Bicton concert in it's short history.

“It was just a great night and gets better every year,” said Alan Pigram, adding: “The concert could not have been much bigger, there was no more room.”

Special guests on stage were Bran Nue Dae actors Steven ‘Bamba’ Albert and Ningali Lawford who performed songs from the movies’ soundtrack alongside The Pigram Brothers.

Overall, the concert was another great success and the Clontarf Foundation wishes to thank Lotterywest for their support and to everyone who attended for making it a fantastic night.
